Labors initiatives for Working Families
The Charlton Families Kit provides information about payments and services available for families. However, you should always check your eligibility with the Family Assistance Office or Centrelink and call to see what you might be entitled to. Payment rates in this guide are current from 1 July 2011.
Helpful links for familes
Centrelink delivers a range of payments and services for retirees, the unemployed, families, carers, parents, people with disabilities, Indigenous Australians, and people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and provides services at times of major change.
The Family Assistance Office gives Australian families better access to government services. Instead of going to different agencies to get family assistance, families are able to get all their payments from just one place. Family Assistance Offices have been set up in Medicare offices and Centrelink Customer Service Centres across the country, offering a range of payments to support families with their work and family responsibilities.
Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs
The Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) exists to support the Government to deliver on a broad range of social policy outcomes.
