Businesses from across the Hunter are invited to attend a Building the Recovery Information Session that will be held at Cardiff Panthers in Newcastle next Monday 15 February at 2pm.
The information session will outline opportunities for local business to take advantage of the Australian Government’s economic stimulus package and other construction projects in the region.
Parliamentary Secretary for Employment Jason Clare said the information session was part of the Keep Australia Working initiative.
“When I visited the Hunter for the Keep Australia Working forum in September last year, local businesses told me they wanted more information about the Government’s economic stimulus package,” Mr Clare said.
“That’s why we’re holding this information session – to bring together all levels of Government as well as industry so we can get the most out of the stimulus package.
Greg Combet, Member for Charlton, encourages local businesses to attend this information session.
“I want local businesses to have every opportunity to take advantage of this massive Government and private sector investment to support jobs in our community. That’s why we’re holding this forum in Newcastle.”
“The economic stimulus plan is supporting jobs, tradies and small businesses during the economic downturn and is an important part of the region’s economic recovery,” Mr Combet said.
Registrations can be made by emailing: www.keepaustraliaworking.gov.au/buildingtherecovery or by phoning Jack Ritchie, Local Employment Coordinator for the Hunter and Central Coast on 0458 274 444.

Mr Clare said the information session is a further step to helping the Hunter emerge strongly from the effects of the global recession.
“These sessions are evidence of all levels of government and industry working together to support and create jobs in Priority Employment Areas across Australia,” Mr Clare said.
